RambleSam

Good grief, I do talk some dribble…

So here’s the plan…

14 days, 2300 km. Let’s go.

  • Arriving in Windhoek (J on the map – yeah I know, I’m technologically challenged…) on a morning flight we pick up the vehicle, sort out our admin and shopping, and spend our first night in the capital. Along with a highly anticipated visit to Joe’s Beerhouse of course.
  • After some 4×4 training we head north from Windhoek, spending one night at the Okonjima nature reserve (B), home of the AfriCat Foundation.
  • Continuing north we head to Etosha National Park. We’ll spend two nights camping in our roof tent at Onguma private reserve (C), followed by one night further west at the Etosha Safari Lodge (D).
  • Leaving Etosha we head west into Damaraland for three nights, each one camping at a different site (E, F and G).
  • Onwards to the Skeleton Coast! A trip to Cape Cross seal colony, followed by a drive down the coast to Swakopmund for a couple of nights in a hotel (H).
  • Continuing south, we head inland to the Namib-Naukluft National Park for sand dune action for a couple of nights in a desert lodge (I).
  • A final night camping at Namibgrens on the Spreetshoogte pass on our way back to Windhoek for our flight (J again).
